SITIO JOINS CPDC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

SITIO’s Founding Principal, Antonio Fiol-Silva recently joined the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation’s (CPDC) Board of Directors.  Antonio rejoins the Board after years of prior service to reaffirm his, and now SITIO’s, commitment of support to CPDC. Over the decades, CPDC has been a key force in the growth of Center City, and CPDC members represent a business leadership committed to making Center City Philadelphia a competitive location for established businesses and entrepreneurship.

SITIO TO PRESENT AT APA PENNSYLVANIA CONFERENCE THIS WEEK

SITIO’s Antonio Fiol-Silva alongside Tony Hanna, Executive Director of the Bethlehem Redevelopment Authority, will be presenting “SteelStacks Campus: The Transformation of the Bethlehem Steel Site into an Arts and Cultural Campus”, at the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planning Association 2016 Annual Conference. Embracing the theme for the conference – Communities, Corridors, and Connection, this session will discuss the elements of historic preservation, brownfield redevelopment, arts and culture, economic development, urban design and tourism that have each been an important component of this site’s transformation and success.  #APAPA16

ANTONIO FIOL-SILVA ADVISES TRANSFORMATION OF PORT & FORMER STEEL MILL IN SOUTH CAROLINA

Antonio Fiol-Silva is visiting Georgetown, South Carolina as a member of the ULI Advisory Services Committee focused on transforming the former ArcelorMittal steel mill and the Port of Georgetown into a thriving destination for residents and tourists, and a catalyst for economic development. Together with the Committee, Antonio will be reviewing the 150-acre site, and providing valuable direct experience gained from our recent transformative placemaking projects at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

ANTONIO FIOL-SILVA FEATURED AS KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT UNION LEAGUE REAL ESTATE SUMMIT

Antonio Fiol-Silva, Founding Partner of SITIO architecture + urbanism, is honored to address the Union League’s Real Estate Club (ULRE) as the keynote speaker during their second annual summit on September 7th.

SITIO’S ANTONIO FIOL-SILVA APPOINTED TO THE PHILADELPHIA HISTORICAL COMMISSION

SITIO’s Antonio Fiol-Silva was recently appointed to the Philadelphia Historical Commission by Mayor Jim Kenney. Established in 1955, the Philadelphia Historical Commission is the City of Philadelphia’s regulatory agency responsible for ensuring the preservation of historically significant buildings, structures, sites, objects, interiors and districts in Philadelphia. 

HOOVER-MASON TRESTLE WINS 2016 ULI PHILADELPHIA WILLARD G. “BILL” ROUSE III AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

The Hoover-Mason Trestle was recently awarded the 2016 ULI Philadelphia Willard G. Rouse III Award. As part of a celebration of the region’s top real estate projects, winners were announced at an awards ceremony on June 15th.  SITIO's Antonio Fiol-Silva was Principal-In-Charge and Karen Blanchard was Project Architect of this unique and challenging project while at WRT.

SITIO's Antonio Fiol-Silva participated on a distinguished jury panel of Philadelphia firms representing design excellence for the 2016 Architectural Record Advertising Excellence Awards. Each year Architectural Record recognizes the most effective ads in the building and design marketplace, and the companies and agencies that produce them. The ads are carefully reviewed and judged by a blue ribbon panels of experienced architects representing the breadth of the profession—firms of all sizes working on projects from large-scale commercial to residential and interiors.

ANTONIO FIOL-SILVA TO PRESENT AT HUD'S "THE CITY WE WANT & NEED: A MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL CONVENING ON HABITAT III"

Several significant social, economic, environmental and technological factors have emerged in recent years that will have a transformative impact on urban areas in the future. Many cities have been in the forefront in addressing climate change adaptation and mitigation, demographic shifts and changing lifestyle preferences, and fluctuating employment and transportation paradigms. This Panel Discussion: Responding to Change & Building Resilience will highlight some of these external factors and panelists will showcase how different communities are responding to the environmental, housing, transportation, and equity challenges created by these future forces.
