SITIO SUBMITS 14-STORY PROJECT IN NASHVILLE

On behalf of EQT Exeter, SITIO has submitted a 385-unit, 14 story multi-family project for development in the vibrant city of Nashville, Tennessee. Located at 531-533 Lafayette Street, this well positioned Pie Town location is steps from the Country Music Hall of Fame and will contribute to the recent growth in the SoBro district. This project was recently featured as a cover-page story in the Nashville Post and the Nashville Business Journal.

THE CHESTNUT AT UNIVERSITY CITY/ PENN DREXEL NEWMAN CENTER WIN A ULI PHILADELPHIA AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE

SITIO’s two-pronged project - The Chestnut at University City and The Penn Drexel Newman Center has received a ULI Philadelphia Award for Excellence.  The multi-faceted project is the product of a private/institutional partnership between EQT Exeter and the associated institutional entities that support the Penn/Drexel Newman Center - the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Parish of St. Agatha - St. James.

The project consists of a sensitively integrated complex of interconnected mixed-use buildings and courtyards that weave together with the adjacent Penn and Drexel University campuses and University City - both the new 30-story/405-unit tower of The Chestnut and the adaptive re-use of the historic buildings that house the Newman Center and the Parish of St. Agatha - St. James.

This biennial award represents the highest standards of achievement in the development industry and recognizes outstanding and transformational land use developments, best practices, and creative visioning.   Learn more about the project here and at ULI Philadelphia.

CONSTRUCTION PROGRESSES IN BETHESDA

Construction continues to progress at The Astrid in Bethesda, Maryland. Developed by EQT Exeter and built by CBG Building Company, this multi-family residential building has 562 units within two towers. Both towers are connected by a formal entry court and a glassy garden pavilion at the base, all nestled within Pooks Hill.

LA JOYA GARDENS BREAKS GROUND IN DETROIT!

SITIO’s La Joya Gardens project started construction this week in Detroit’s Southwest neighborhood. This mixed-use development brings urban vitality to a longstanding vacant block along a main street corridor. Within the residential portion, this 53 unit building will offer 42 units as affordable for those earning 30% to 80% of the area median income. At the ground level, retail storefronts face the street creating vibrant spaces within a lush landscaped plaza. At the center is a community pavilion that provides a welcoming location for social gathering and local events. La Joya, which means “jewel” in Spanish, was a name chosen by residents during the project’s extensive community engagement process.

EXPANSIVE GREEN ROOF AT 2500 LEAGUE ISLAND BOULEVARD HIGHLIGHTED

2500 League Island Boulevard, a 130,000 flex building for life sciences, was recently featured on GreenRoofs for its expansive green roof installation. This recently completed 60,000sf green roof represents one of the largest installations in Pennsylvania to date. The green roof is an integral part of stormwater management, and its attributes contribute to the building’s LEED Silver certification. Developed by Gattuso Development Partners at Philadelphia’s Navy Yard, the facility’s construction is nearly complete.

SITIO NAMED FINALIST FOR CHICAGO DEVELOPMENT SITE

SITIO was recently named a Finalist for the Lake / Kezdie development project in Chicago. As part of a focus on design excellence,  the Chicago Department of Planning and Development invited architecture and developer firms to re-envision 3 mixed-use buildings near the Kedzie / Lake Green ‘L’ station. This significant commercial corridor is part of the South/West Initiative that looks to promote development and spur investment in the historically neglected West Side. SITIO’s project, The Astrid in Bethesda, Maryland, is hitting a construction milestone as it nears the final pours completing the concrete podium and 3 levels of below-grade parking garage. Next up - 10 floors on each of the two towers which will start the construction of 562 multi-family residential units.

SITIO RECASTS THE COBBS CREEK RECREATION CENTER

SITIO presented design concepts for the revisioning of the Johnny Sample Recreation Center at Cobbs Creek during a public enegagement session last week in West Philadelphia. Developed by the Fairmount Park Conservancy for the City of Philadelphia’s Rebuild initiative, the new renovation and addition transforms the center into a beacon of light in the neighborhood, combining transparency and daylight with community programs for both children and adults. Located alongside Cobbs Creek, the updated center will offer indoor and outdoor amenities that reconnect the community and this uniquely bucolic park with access to trails along the historic creek.

SKYLINE WEST PROJECT RECEIVES UNANIMOUS APPROVAL FROM BETHLEHEM HISTORIC BOARD

The Bethlehem Historic and Architectural Review Board unanimously approved a certificate of appropriateness for the ‘Skyline West’ multi-family residential building in downtown Bethlehem - the local news article can be found here.
